Different newspaper audiences might interpret the same content in different ways depending on the newspaper’s audience political views. Daily mail targets an audience that is right wing in their political views where the mirror is left wing. So people with right wing values have a preferred reading of the daily mail as it follows there political views and vice versa.
The mirror shows a global issue about the war on terrorism with the news values of an elite nation of America and the elite person George Bush who was president at the time. Because this is a global issue there will be less political bias so both wings will get similar preferred reading. It will be less political because its an issue that affects everyone, its an attack on both ideologies with the threat of terrorism.
Whereas the daily mail is a national issue instead of a global issue. The content is right wing preferred reading due to the conservative political views, so the content would not be interpreted in the same way as the left wing would interpret this content due to the political views. The right wing would interpret this as liberating and powerful whereas the left wing could take this as a threat to their political parties campaign.
